#IMPACTED EAR WAX FULL#
The first time I did this my ear felt painful and full as the wax softened. Lay like this for five minutes, then put some tissue around the ear, lay the other way and let it drain out. Now lay on your side to let the oil penetrate, massage the side of your face/top of your jaw to manipulate it in. Do this a few times until you think there's enough oil in there (no need to go mad). Don't put q-tip in your ear, all you're trying to do is wipe off the oil so it drains into the ear canal. Then take it off the heat, get a load of it on q-tip, lean head to one side and put q-tip around outside of ear.

Dip q-tip in and touch just above your top lip to make sure it's not too hot, only needs a very short time on heat but it should be nice and warm which is why if you keep touching it above your top lip you get an idea if it's warm or too hot. Tried olive oil in the past with mixed results so did some reading online and tried warming it. I had a crackling noise in my ear when I moved my jaw earlier this week. Has anyone else ever suffered to this degree ? I ask because I am concerned this is more than just wax.Īlso if this is wax, am I safe leaving it a week ? If pressure is on my ear drum I don't want to create permanent damage. But I am amazed at how rough and off balance I feel from this, and the tinnitus is incredibly loud.

Sadly though the nurse can't clean it out for a whole week. I went to see the doc yesterday and he looked in my ear and said I had impacted wax. I am using olive oil drops but that seems to make it worse as it dulls my hearing even more and squishes around in my ear. I feel a bit rough, can't hear out of my right ear, have incredible tinnitus, and feel like I am walking on the deck of a boat all the time, very wobbly. Then on Sunday, about 2 hours after trying to clean it out with a home syringe kit and q-tips (I don't remember putting the cotton bud in too far though), I suddenly get awful balance. I straight away thought of wax touching my ear drum. On Saturday I started to feel sensitive to noises, and had tinnitus in my right ear with a bit of blockage.
