Its no surprise they cant keep people nor hire new people. Its either do what we say or find a new job. So being told in the interview process your schedule is 8 but then your told "We are working 10s for the foreseeable future." THAT IS NOT A TIMEFRAME!!! PLACES LIKE THIS HAVE ZERO DISREGARD FOR WORK LIFE BALANCES. They say its a 8 hour schedule but they LIE to you its actually over 50 hours a week and you have NO CHOICE in the matter you either work it or you get points and get fired unlesss your a buddy buddy with the boss. Last but not least there there is ZERO coordination on how they handle mandatory overtime.
We had one forklift guy take a week off then he said he got exposed the company made him quarantine just to be safe they didnt make him take a test or anything even though cdc has change guidelines on being quarantined. The covid practices make it a nightmare to work here because so many people can call out WITHOUT being exposed dirctly to covid. Supervisor are more flexible towards other employees that they like rather than being based on company policies. There are 100 percent double standards in this place like when the supervisor walk on the production floor on their phone without steeltoes. The business is listed under holding company category. Lazy and entitled This is the job you go to when you need extra money you cannot build a career at NSE. Overall this is still a decent company to work for although it continues to suffer from rampant nepotism. Wages have dropped the past few years as inflation has dramatically risen and Newstream has failed to raise wages in comparison. They offer industry-standard benefits with an ESOP bonus and cheaper than average insurance costs. They have become no better than any other company while maintaining a smokescreen to appear as though they stand above the rest. Unfortunately, the company experienced a major management turnover around 2018 and has lost touch with its employees. It did a good job of employee recognition and awards and paid above-average wages. It was sensitive to its employee's work/life balance to the point of allowing employees to essentially define their own work hours within reason. Newstream was once a great place to work for.
